Fowlmere School PTFA  Art Exhibition  7th-8th June 2008

Fowlmere School PTFA (an amalgamation ofTthe Friends of Fowlmere School and the PTA)will stage the tenth annual Art Exhibition at Fowlmere School from 7th-8th June this year. The event is now a popular fixture in the village calendar and many people look forward to it each year as it continues to grow in size, and success. Last year 96 local artists, many of them well known, exhibited 472 pictures and ceramics, of which 121 were sold. In addition we sold a number of handmade wooden bowls kindly donated by Peter lake. Over 500 visitors from far and wide flocked in over the weekend, taking delight in the variety and quality of the work, and the relaxing atmosphere that surrounds the display. The charming backdrop of artwork by the pupils at Fowlmere School always attracts considerable interest too. 2006's exhibition raised a record £2,235 for the school making a total of £13,258 raised since the first exhibition in 1999.  We are looking forward to another impressive and tempting display of local talent this year, and as always, want to welcome as many visitors as possible. Fundraising is always important as the school aims to further its development projects, so we hope you’ll feel able to support the exhibition. If you’ve been before we'll look forward to seeing you again. If you haven't, do come along. Many of the pictures are very reasonably priced, but there is no obligation to buy. Just come and enjoy a delightful collection of work.

If anyone in the village would like to exhibit, or knows someone who would, or if you would simply like to know more about the exhibition, please contact Lois Nolasco on 208442.
