A man who has delivered hay and straw to Shepreth Wildlife Park for 10 years has pledged to donate £800 to help poorly hedgehogs.

Tony Deans, from Fowlmere, contacted staff to offer their conservation charity a generous £100 a month up until Christmas.

He said: “I often visit the park and the staff are always friendly, I love animals and like to help the community where I can.”

Manager of the park’s brand new Hedgehog Hospital, Natasha Ennew, said the money will be used to treat injured hedgehogs so they can be released into the wild.

She said: “This will be enormously helpful, we are all very grateful.”
